Dam Construction at Hawkshill Hydro

The photos below show an insight into the work that we have been completing at Halkshill Hydro on the outskirts of Largs. We have constructed two dams on the Greeto and Gogo waters to create storage. The creation of storage permits the gradual release of water, which then facilitates greater generation of power. Some construction information on the two dams:
Greeto Dam
A 10m high, 35m wide reinforced concrete dam that provides 8 hours of remote storage for the run-of-river hydro scheme that is below. The construction took around 6 months. 

Gogo Dam
A 5.5m high, 50m wide reinforced concrete dam that provides 4 hours of remote storage for the below run-of-river hydro scheme. The construction time of this dam was slightly less, taking around 5 months. The left bank wingwall was completed by using a earthfill embankment with a sheet pile core. 

For both dams, a formwork system from Ishebeck Titan was used to create the concrete spillway and walls.

We are almost finished on site now, some great work up here by the guys.
